Her lyrical approach is intense and well-thought-out stories of real emotions. Β Overall her music is creatively authentic and raw.

Growing up in a household where music was as essential as breathing, Jehnniel’s passion for sound and rhythm blossomed early on. Every day, music filled the air of her family compound, nestled alongside her grandparent’s home and a few cousins’ residences. From her grandfather’s vinyl collection to her father’s CDs, music was the heartbeat of her daily life, immersing her in a kaleidoscope of genres and sounds that would eventually shape her musical journey.

Jehnniel is a single mother reason why she decided to work in the UK after graduating her Nursing Degree so she could support her daughter. She later brought her daughter with her in the UK and now that her daughter has grown up, she decided to go back to Music where her soul truly resonates.

Jehnniel’s eclectic taste in music has been a defining aspect of her identity. Growing up, she was inspired by a wide range of artists, from the romantic tunes of Brian Hyland’s Sealed with a Kiss to the groundbreaking sounds of legends like The Beatles, Bob Dylan, David Bowie, and Radiohead. Other influences include BjΓΆrk, Alanis Morissette, Jewel, and Coldplay, among many others. This diverse range of musical icons contributed to Jehnniel’s unique style, blending genres and creating music that is both timeless and personal.

Her single BLUE SKIES will be released on 5th October 2024, and to be followed by a 6 -track Β EP Seawolves which is currently being produced by Roberto Panovski.

What’s your earliest memory of music-making?

Listening to my Grandfather’s vinyl collection and my dad’s CD collection.

Is there a backstory to your artist/band name?
It’s my own name, a combination of both my parents’ names.

Tell us about what you’re working on now. Who’s involved, how’s it going?
I am currently now promoting my released tracks Sea Wolves 2016, Blue Skies, and Heart Beat. All songs written by me, Sea Wolves I produced and mixed, while the two songs were recorded produced mixed and mastered by Roberto Panovski. Heart Beat I co produced as it was all a reference from my original Heart Beat production.

What’s your biggest music-related fear? What helps you navigate stage fright, fear of failure, or other challenges?

Fear is a good sign for my that I am alive and that I am going towards success. The moment i faced my fears is the moment i realised how brave i truly am. Stage fright is one, after an incident when I was young I got laughed at stage when my backing tracks refused to work, I stood up on stage like a brick having to leave the stage without even singin a single note. I was traumatised but I realise that the only way to conquer it is to face that event once more and decide to make it happen and i did.

What’s the biggest challenge, disappointment, or struggle you’ve faced in your career so far?

Promotion, I can say I have to push myself to promote and be on social media to share contents and my music. Being an independent artist you have to commit on doing these things otherwise no matter how talented or great your music can be and if you have no machinery to promote it then it can be swept under the rug.

What’s the best music-related advice you’ve ever received?

Be true to yourself, sing like the birds not worrying about who is listening…just sing it with all your heart. Write music based on how you truly feel.

Finish the sentence with your biggest music industry pet peeve.

Everyone that won a grammy has to praise and thank Beyonce on their acceptance speech?

What’s your biggest dream or fantasy as an artist?

To know that the people that inspires me to write music are actually loving my music.

Tell us about others involved in your music β€” this can be collaborators, inspirations, or anyone you’d like to give a shoutout to.

My mum Jessica who kept bugging me to release my song, My friend Fabz who told me that not all people can write songs and so i have to do it because its who I am, My daughter who truly believes in me, My dad, bro and sis, who nods their heads and enjoys my music, my friend Ronnie who shares his blessing by paying off one of my produced song, and to Roberto for being an amazing producer.

Success is a complicated mix of luck, talent, and hard work. What’s your philosophy or experience with self-promotion?Β
You just got to do it! believe in what you do! Keep promoting! Whether people like you or not, just keep at it and believe in your music.

Please share any final thoughts, or anything you’d like to share with us that we haven’t addressed yet.
My music is my expression of how I feel emotionally and also a perspective of how I see the world. It is my tool to create art in a form of sound hoping that it will reach the ears of the right audience who will need it the most.
